The Glasgow Business Awards name 2026 winners as Silverburn takes top title

Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has today announced the winners of the 28th Glasgow Business Awards, with seventeen awards presented at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central across categories spanning innovation, sustainability, community wealth building, and workplace culture.

Hosted by Fred MacAulay, the awards saw Silverburn, one of Scotland's premier retail and leisure destinations, named Most Outstanding Business. Sponsored by BAE Systems, the grand prix title was selected from among the category winners. The centre also won The Glasgow Business Award for Best Performing Large Business, sponsored by Nationwide, retaining the title it took in 2025.

The Solutions on Demand Group Ltd, which provides managed IT, telecoms, web development and marketing services to growing businesses, won two awards on the night, taking Best Performing Small-Medium Business, sponsored by Beam Digital and Design, and Innovation in Business.

This year's Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Rhona Baillie OBE, whose exceptional leadership transformed palliative care in Scotland. During her 18 years as chief executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, she led the £21 million capital appeal that delivered the organisation's state-of-the-art Bellahouston Park facility and chaired the Scottish Hospices Leadership Group through the challenges of the pandemic. Rhona will step down from her role at the end of 2026, leaving a remarkable legacy of compassion, vision and impact.

The Glasgow Business Awards, established in 1997, have grown significantly over the years to become the champion of major achievements and business success in the city, becoming a highlight for Glasgow's business community.

Richard Muir, deputy chief executive, at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Glasgow’s business community continues to give us a great deal to celebrate, and this year’s winners are outstanding examples of the talent, determination and enterprise found across the city.

“The judges were particularly impressed by the evidence behind each organisation’s achievements, whether through growth, innovation or wider impact.

“Our thanks go to Nationwide, every category sponsor and The Herald for helping us celebrate Glasgow’s businesses. We look forward to continuing to champion our winners throughout the year ahead.”

Dame Debbie Crosbie DBE, chief executive officer at Nationwide Building Society, said: “The Glasgow Business Awards were a fantastic celebration of the talent, ambition and resilience of the city’s business community. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. Nationwide is proud to celebrate your success and the contribution you make to Glasgow and Scotland.”
