Stagecoach confirms its largest ever order of electric vehicles

Stagecoach, the UK’s biggest coach and bus operator has announced its plans to introduce 170 fully electric vehicles in Stockport as it places its largest electric bus order to date. The electric fleet of 150 double deck and 20 single deck vehicles, which will be produced by Volvo/MCV represent an investment by Stagecoach of £37.2m and will benefit customers in Stockport with the first vehicles of the order being delivered in summer 2024.

Stagecoach, the UK’s largest bus and coach operator has announced that it has successfully registered the bus service that its fleet of five autonomous vehicles will be operating in East Scotland from 15 May 2023.
Business confidence continues to rise in Scotland

Business confidence in Scotland rose 24 points during March to 38%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Bank of Scotland Commercial Banking – conducted between 1 and 15 March ahead of the Chancellor’s Spring Budget on Wednesday 15 March. Companies in Scotland reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up 34 points at 41%. When taken alongside their optimism in the economy, up 15 points to 35% this gives a headline confidence reading of 38%.
